Kate Barr joined Baird in 2012, bringing with her over two decades of experience in banking and investment management. She began her career at Bank of America in the Global Corporate Investment Banking division, where she developed a strong foundation in financial services. In 2001, Kate joined Doug Mabie at William Blair, and in 2012, they transitioned together to Baird.
Throughout her career, Kate has been deeply committed to building lasting relationships with clients, grounded in trust and thoughtful guidance. She is especially proud of the years spent working alongside Doug, whose calm and steady presence helped navigate clients through even the most uncertain markets—a legacy she continues to honor in her own approach today. She currently holds Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.
Outside of work, Kate is an active member of the Springboard Foundation, which supports afterschool programs in underserved areas of Chicago, as well as Ronald McDonald House Charities. In her free time, she enjoys running, cooking, and traveling.
